DECORATIVE PLASTERWORK, MOLDINGS AND CORNICES
Some examples:
- Paint removal from plaster work.
- Repairs and restoration.
- Repainting in original colour schemes.
Many period cornice and ceiling roses have been painted many times over the decades or centuries, with the result of near complete loss of detail. Large Rooms such as those of Georgian houses may have been divided several times through changing use and the cornices may be broken or damaged along these divides. Sometimes the underlying structure may be significantly friable and fragile and restoration is impractical on the basis of time and cost, except in rare cases.
A small test patch can be made to see if paint removal is possible, whilst preserving the substrate and determine whether the surface needs consolidation or other treatment.
